Indekš academic year to finish off with the final duplet!
The first part of the duplet gig brings the premiere Ljubljana appearance of the new Scandinavian indie phenomenon, Liima. An entirely new project combining the creative forces of Finnish percussionist Tatu Rönkkö and three Danes, Mads Brauer, Casper Clausen, Rasmus Stolberg, also known as Efterklang. Liima are releasing their debut album “ii” on the eminent 4AD on 18 March 2016.

Liima is a Finish word for glue. And indeed, the project has glued together the Finnish percussion artist Tatu Rönkkö and the Danish trio who, then known as Efterklang, played an ace gig in Ljubljana a bit more than a year ago, and soon afterwards paused their activity to focus on other projects. Their most vital venture is the new band Liima, in which the four members have glued together their experience, ideas and sounds that they were combining as residence artists in Berlin, Madeira, Istanbul and Finland. They claim to have been inspired by the concept of shortish, limited-duration residence programmes that featured the closing gig, which resulted in fresh, spontaneous and intense creativity, and a boost to their common collective creative grasp and dynamics.
The results will be featured on their album to be released on 18 March on 4AD, also the shelter of Efterklang and many of the currently most intriguing artists, ranging from Ariel Pinka and The National to Tune-Yards. LIIMA Official Website>
